DAY 1: DAMASCUS
Arrive Damascus, transfer to hotel.
Overnight: Damascus.
DAY 2: DAMASCUS - PALMYRA
Sightseeing in Damascus, the world's oldest continuously inhabited city. Visit the National Museum and the Hamedieh Bazaar, a huge covered Suq (bazaar) providing a lively kaleidoscope of different peoples, crafts, customs and smells. On to the "Street called Straight", one of the city’s main east-west thoroughfares since Roman times, lined with shops and stalls. Visit St. Anania's Church and St. Paul's Church, both linked to St. Paul's conversion. Drive to the famous desert oasis of Palmyra.

DAY 3: PALMYRA
Full day sightseeing in Palmyra, the "City of a Thousand Columns" and one of the most spectacular sites of the ancient world. A desert city of vast colonnaded streets, lavishly decorated tombs, ornate stone carvings and imposing temples, it combines late Hellenistic, Parthian and Roman traditions on a scale unmatched in the classical era. See the Bel Temple, the impressive Colonnade Street, Theatre, and the Valley of the Tombs.

DAY 4: PALMYRA - KRAK DES CHEVALIERS – MAALULA – DAMASCUS
Visit the famous Krak Des Chevaliers, probably the most characteristic and best preserved of all Crusader Castles. It stands proudly on a volcanic crater and overlooks the Beka’a plain, Homs and Latakia mountains. Continue to Maalula, a charming mountain village set against the austere rocks. Its inhabitants still speak Aramaic, a language from Biblical times. Proceed to Damascus.

DAY 5: DAMASCUS
Day at leisure, explore Damascus on your own. This evening, drive to Kassion Mountain and enjoy the panoramic view. Dinner at a typical local restaurant with Arabic classical music.
