Arrival in Madrid, transfer to hotel.

DAY 2: MADRID
A morning tour of Madrid: Start at the University City, surrounded by the splendid West’s Park, the Casa de Campo, with a beautiful view of Madrid. On to the Barrio de la Moreria (Moorish Quarter) with its typical atmosphere, the “Mesones” and the architecture of old Madrid. We see elegant squares such as Oriente, Espana, Puerta del Sol, Neptune, Cibeles and Columbus. On to Alcala’s Gate and the memorial Retiro Park, the bullring which was a colourful place in the great days of “corridas”. Continue to the new Madrid with modern buildings, gardens and large avenues. Spend the afternoon at leisure, exploring this marvellous city.
