Day 1
Arrive in Rome, transfer to hotel. For people arriving in the morning there is a possibility of a city tour of Rome with a professional guide. Welcome dinner (B, D)
Day 2
South out of Rome through the hills of ancient Albalonga, where Romolus and Remus came from to found Rome, we reach the Circeo peninsula, which is said to carry the profile of the “maga Circe” the potent witch which fell in love with Odysseus and kept him prisoner for many years on the Island of Ponza. In the evening we reach the Costiera Amalfitana. (B)
Day 3 & 4
You have two days to enjoy every corner of this 60 km long coastline. Each road is entertaining each corner reveals a spectacular view and each house has a story to tell. Amalfi is named after a nymph who Hercules loved but who suddenly died. Hercules distraught by sadness decided to bury her in the most beautiful place on Earth, the bay of Amalfi. During these two days you also have the chance to visit the excavations in Pompei or take a boat trip to the Island or Capri. (B)
Day 5
We leave the Costiera and visit Paestum’s archaeological site, another must when in this region. Greek and Roman ruins, temples and painted tombs dated as far back as the 3rd century BC make up for an interesting visit. After the visit to Peastum the Cilento coastal road awaits all the way to Maratea where we make base for the next two days.
A great ride following the coastal road all the way to Tropea. We make some occasional incursion into the side roads off the coast, where the roads wind up hills and valleys to return bask to the sea once more. (B)
Day 6
Loop ride the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park. Pay a visit to the Certosa di Padula a very interesting monastery. Experience some incredible views form the Vallo di Diano all the way to the sea and witness the rural life in this southern region by sampling lunch at a local agritursimo. (B)
Day 7
Loop ride into Calabria from Maratea. The Pollino national park offers a great selection of Roads and scenery all the way to the Ionian Sea. Roads are virtually free of any traffic and Nature is all around you. (B)
Day 8
We leave the Tyrrenian coast and visit the regional park of the “Piccole Dolomite Lucane”. An incredible landscape await’s with fantastic rock formations. Its one of Italy’s hidden treasures. Our tour makes a one night stop over in Matera. Here you’ll be able to explore the “Sassi” and the “Chiese Rupestri”. Ancient fascinating settlements and churches going back to the Middle Ages. (B)
Day 9
We reach Gallipoli in the Salento region. This is the heel of Italy. The sea is fantastic here and the town enchanting. We have two nights here. (B)
Day 10
Loop ride along the Salento coastal road ending with a visit to Lecce worth visit to view the many incredible baroque architectures. You can also relax by the beach in Gallipoli and enjoy a relaxing day through the old town. (B)
Day 11
We transfer from the heel to the spur of Italy, the Gargano peninsula. Along the way we’ll stop in Alberobello and Castel del Monte and ride along the Saline near Manfredonia before tackling the Gargano twisties. The ride is very pleasant with many interesting views and seeping bends. (B)
Day 12
A rest day in Mattinata. We stay in the hotel by the sea with a fantastic beach. It will be warm enough to swim so bring your swimming trunks and bathing costumes. For those of you who want to ride there are some fantastic roads up in the “Forest Umbra” and along the coast to Vieste, worth a visit. There’s even a chance to sail for an afternoon on the hotel’s yacht. (B)
Day 13
We make our way back to Rome cutting across Italy. Some autostrada is inevitable but we’ll make an interesting last visit to the monastery of Monte Cassino, destroyed and completely restored after the WW2. Farewell Dinner.

Day 14
Transfer to Rome Airport and depart for your onward journey. (B)
